Target
Group Information :
|
|
Our
target group includes
Dalits and backward
women class especially
rural illiterates
and dropouts who belong
to the age group between
15-40 and who pursue
livelihoods mainly
as unskilled labourers
and agriculture workers.
Long hours of work,
law wages, untimely
payment of wages are
the problems faced
by them. Seasonal
unemployment leads
them to a life of
misery and become
bonded to the landlords
by taking loans/advances.
Besides this many
social problems also
affect them like child
marriage, dowry system,
alcoholism, atrocities
to women, petty quarrels,
violence, lack of
infrastructural facilities,
for health and education,
exploitation etc.
The decision making
power of the target
group is very weak
when it comes to their
participation in the
common village affairs.
Various political
parties consider them
as vote banks. Their
linkages with the
political leaders
and government officers
are minimum. Though
the Local Governing
Body is in operation
they are yet to take
advantage of the schemes
and programmes promoted
under this system.
